A researcher from the First Division Museum at Cantigny uses personal stories to explain the challenges, strategies, and solutions used by the American Infantry and Armor Units.
Focusing on the 1st ID and its attached tank units, I will be providing analysis and explanation on the efforts of American Infantry and Armor Units during D-Day and the Battle of Normandy. Using personal stories of individuals and connecting to the larger series of events I will explain the challenges they faced, the strategies the Germans used to defend the Normandy Region, and the solutions the troops developed. I will also provide clarification on some of the less understood aspects of history and provide insight into the development of the Tank-Infantry team.
