He is a former member of the Shannon Rovers Pipe Band and a current member of the Dundee Scottish Pipe Band. He also competes in solo piping competitions. Chapman has played for four Presidents, Pope John Paul II, Speaker of the House, Tip O’Neill, Cardinal Francis George and both Mayor Daleys.
