Part of the NAMI Conversations: Parent Series, this presentation will discuss how school avoidance is often misunderstood as a behavioral problem that must be punished. This workshop helps uncover the hidden root causes of why children might resist going to school and provides strategies for starting constructive, empathetic conversations. Leave with actionable tools to alleviate their distress, practical resources for long-term success, and a realistic roadmap for fostering their social, emotional, and academic success.
