RPG Tasting 2.0

Step into the wider world of roleplaying games beyond Dungeons & Dragons by sampling three games. Perfect for new players and RPG enthusiasts alike!

Tabletop roleplaying games empower players to take control of unique characters and embark on adventures arbitrated by a Game Master, in an environment bounded only by the players’ imagination. The world of RPGs spans a variety of genres and styles. Some RPGs emphasize strategic gameplay, others focus on roleplaying and group storytelling, and still others introduce large dice pools so chance drives the narrative.

In this program, staff will showcase three exciting RPGs from the library’s collection. Fantasy Flight Star Wars RPG is a cinematic system using specialized dice to help build an exciting mix of heroics and antics in an iconic setting. Kids on Bikes is a rules-light storytelling game inspired by stories like The Goonies and Stranger Things. Players are teens in a small town solving mysteries using a fast paced dice system designed to get you right to the action. Beak, Feather, and Bone is a beginner-friendly mapmaking game in which players represent rival factions in a city setting, and take turns contributing worldbuilding details to the city map.

This program is perfect for all RPG fans, whether you’re exploring RPGs for the first time or you’re a veteran looking for a new way to play.
