Venture-Captain Bjersig Torrsen has set out the call for a group of Pathfinders to compete in a race known as the Balgirdtrek. Taking place in the Land of the Linnorm Kings, this race is an annual event that includes participants from both the Varki and Ulfen people of the region. Bjersig hopes that by having the PCs participate, they might not only bolster the Society's reputation in the Saga Lands, but also document this exciting event. Although the Society has the organizers' official permission, some of the Ulfen competitors in particular see the Pathfinders' participation as an intrusion on their time-honored pastime. The true challenge of this race is not monsters or villains, but the harsh nature of the grueling marathon itself.

Pathfinder is a tabletop roleplaying game, similar to Dungeons and Dragons. Within it, players take control of adventurers and embark on missions that are arbitrated by the Game Master. Characters are composed of various statistics and abilities granted by the rules of the game: what the characters do with these is entirely up to the imagination of the player. Anything can be attempted! The outcome of these actions are determined by rolling dice and the interpretation of these results by the Game Master, who -- similar to the players controlling their own character – controls all the supporting actors for the story.
Pathfinder is a longstanding pastime that has many valid approaches and styles of gameplay. Our goal in the DGPL Pathfinder Society is to work together to brave the myriad challenges faced by the heroes we play. Our campaign is styled as a collaborative storytelling experience in which our players actively work together to complete their shared mission.
