Pianist Reginald Robinson performs his renowned American jazz and ragtime, while intermixing the stories behind his music.
Reginald Robinson has been called a “Chicago Ragtime wizard” and was awarded the rare and distinguished John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur “Genius” Grant for his innovative ragtime piano works and music research. In addition to performing, Robinson is well known internationally for his lectures at colleges and universities that have helped preserve the legacy of African American history.
This concert is presented with help from WDCB 90.9FM Public Radio – Chicago’s Home for Jazz! – as part of its monthly “WDCB Jazz Jammin’ in the Stacks” series supporting public libraries.
