An entertaining presentation featuring stories of the discovery, exploration and touring the wonderland that is the world's first national park, with historic photos.

For more than 200 years visitors have been awed by geysers spouting 200 feet high, canyons a thousand feet deep and a mountain top lake 15 miles long in the area that became Yellowstone National Park in 1872.  Author M. Mark Miller describes collecting and publishing the stories of adventure and humor in the park. They include the tales of a trapper writing about a geyser in 1827, a recent bride captured by Indians in 1877, and a matron leaving her husband behind and taking their seven to the park in 1903.

M. Mark Miller is a fifth-generation Montanan who grew up on a small ranch north of Yellowstone Park. His earliest memories are of his grandmother telling about her trip to the park in 1909 and her father and grandfather’s trip there in 1882. Miller has capitalized on his life-long interest in Yellowstone history to assemble anthologies and write fiction and literary non-fiction about travel there. He is a member of the Downers Grove Writers Workshop.
