Bagpiper Kevin Chapman introduces the rich history of bagpipes, one of the world’s oldest currently played instruments. Dressed in full regalia, he gives a stirring demonstration of his piping skills.
Chapman is a piper on the Great Highland Bagpipes and has been playing for almost 30 years. In June 2019, he was invited to play at the D-Day ceremonies in Normandy, France. He is a former member of the Shannon Rovers Pipe Band and a current member of the Dundee Scottish Pipe Band. He also competes in solo piping competitions. Chapman has played for four Presidents, Pope John Paul II, Speaker of the House, Tip O’Neill, Cardinal Francis George and both Mayor Daleys. He is a graduate of the North American Piping School and the Balmoral School of Piping.
