Don’t miss these engaging conversations designed to support teens in learning about, understanding, and managing their social, emotional, and mental health.
Registration opens 2 weeks before the event.
Part of the Teen Life: Conversations with NAMI series, this program explores how, while it’s normal to care about one’s appearance, that concern can sometimes become overwhelming. Persistent focus on weight, appearance, or a particular body feature may indicate Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). Participants will learn how to distinguish typical concerns about appearance from more serious symptoms, recognize early signs of body dysmorphia, understand its links to eating disorders and other mental health challenges, and identify ways to support themselves or friends who may be affected.
