Requirements for dual citizenship can vary by country. Focusing on Ireland and Italy, learn how to apply, the requirements involved, and documentation needed.

While most countries base citizenship on place of birth, parentage, and marriage, some countries also offer citizenship by descent. Join Rhonda R. McClure, senior genealogist, in exploring your options. Rhonda is a nationally recognized genealogist, a contributing editor to multiple genealogy and history magazines, and the author of 12 books. Rhonda is a current member of American Amcestors/NEHGS.
