Concert: West Towns Chorus

One of Chicago area’s premier men’s choruses performs a cappella barbershop favorites. It’s repertoire includes barbershop, jazz, pop, show tunes and a wide selection of holiday favorites.

West Towns Chorus is the Chicagoland-West Suburban Chapter of Barbershop Harmony Society and is part of the Illinois District. Chartered in June, 1948, originally as the “Lombard Chapter” we became known as The West Towns Chorus, since we drew our membership then, as now, mostly from the Western Suburbs of Chicago.  

The West Towns Chorus won its first District Championship in 1960. The following year, the chorus was the 5th place bronze medalist in the International competition. In 1987 The West Towns Chorus won the Barbershop Harmony Society‘s International Championship in Hartford, CT. They have represented the Illinois District a total of sixteen times in International contests and have finished as a Top Five medalist seven times and are the 2014 Illinois District Chorus Champions.
