One of the Primary roles of First Lady has been to be the hostess of the White House. Within these duties includes the responsibility of decorating the house for Christmas. More recent and modern First Ladies have taken this tradition and used it as a way to support and exemplify their new roles in becoming public stewards of various causes and incorporated them into their decorations.
